Invoice once, in GlobalWorkshop

It's been running quietly with a handful of early clients for a while now, ironing out the creases. We're now happy to say the Xero integration is generally available for all accounts as an add-on.

Raise the invoice where the work actually happened, against the job, with its time and parts - not leaving GlobalWorkshop. Then push it to Xero with one button for your bookeeper. No retyping, no double handling.

• Sales invoices sync across with account codes, tax rates and Xero Items on every line
• Contacts are matched up, or created for you
• Purchase orders go across into Xero too
• Your chart of accounts and tax rates come straight from Xero, and you can set default codes per part or task
• Works for NZ, Australian, UK and US Xero organisations - including the newer US tax types

Merge Updates

This one's been hotly requested. You can now copy media and attachments from one or more timeline updates into a brand new update. You'll find it on the main page of each vehicle.

Pro tip: get the team to post "workshop only" updates through the week as they go. Then on a Friday, use Merge Updates to pick the best photos and notes into a single polished update for the owner. Your clients get the highlights, your team doesn't have to change how they work.

Also landed

• Vehicle Restrictions (Beta) - limit which vehicles each person can see, across the apps and web. Go to Settings > Timesheeting > Vehicle Restrictions, then Settings > People > Vehicle Access
• New time entry editor (Beta) - a bigger notes area, type-ahead search for staff, jobs and tasks, and an "Update and move next" button for reviewing a run of entries
• QR scans now respect task allocation
• Purchase orders get a taxable checkbox and an optional totals display
• Stock bin lists are now searchable when adding or moving parts
• The suppliers list is much faster if you have a lot of suppliers (you know who you are)
• Constructors Edition - a Stock Planner in the Library BOM view, and a massive speed up in BOM recalculation behind the scenes

Out now

The iPhone app has moved through its final open beta builds (1.3.13 - 1.3.14) - clock in/out fixes, dark mode tidy-ups, and full task names on the timesheet. Production release is next.
